Cookies of Love!

valentines day cookies are always so fun to make. many different shapes of hearts and colors to create beautiful valentine creations. i made a colorful assortment of valentine cookies as you can see. i think the cupcakes are my favorite of all ♥
with the cupcakes i used luster dust to make the shading to give it some dimension and added some disco dust to the red tops to make it really sparkle. who comes up with these names? lol
and what is valentines day without necco conversation heart candies and conversation heart cookies? YUM!

Once Upon A Time...

i am part of an amazing cookie group. we chat about cookies, techniques, ideas and even our fun personal lives. i am among a great circle of creative and inspiring woman. we recently did a cookie project based around fairy tale characters for a baby shower...a virtual baby shower. we were each given a fairy tale character and from there we were to create baby shower cookies. i was given Tinkerbell. i did some searching online looking at ideas. at first i was going to put Tinkerbell on a few cookies and just kind of carry on the theme throwout the set with glitter and stars but i wanted something a lil more magical. so i went with a color palette of pinks, purples, blue and white. i knew there were going to be a lot of stars and tiny dots throughout the set to resemble "pixie dust".  i wanted to capture a theme and give the feeling of "girly" and "magical". i really am pleased with the way they turned out....

thanks to Anne at Flour Box Bakery for putting this cookie project together. check out her cute write up on the project....Once Upon a Time

and of course all the talented cookie artists links to their pages. check em out...you wont be disappointed.
