WIX....not twix, WIX !

i have been using blogger for my cupookie website for sometime now and just switched over to a "real" website if thats what you want to call it lol. wix.com is a really cool site that lets you create your own website yourself. its pretty simple and self explanitory. if you are pretty good with computers & understand software you can do alot of cool things to your site as well and make it that much better. so here it is cupookie.com just finished it lastnight. im sure i will have some additions and tweaks here & there but overall im pretty happy with it. its simple, basic, informative and all i need. just wanted to share this in case some didnt know about this site and have been wanting to do a website of their own that you can DIY! yes DO IT YOURSELF!!!

Henna Inspired

I love to do intricate designs. Where I can sit down and just pay attention to detail and then the finished product blows my mind away. Ive seen heena inspired cookies and thought I would take a crack at it. My problem was figuring out how to get royal icing out of a teeny tiny tip. I remember reading somewhere online to take your royal icing and strain it through a nylon...a clean one of course haha! That way any hard pieces of meringue powder will stay in the nylon. I tried it and WOW....no clogged tip. I was impressed. I wish I would of used this method before because I cant tell you how many frusterating times my tip would clog and I would have to take it apart, clean and then a few minutes later clogging again. But then again...gotta learn the hard way sometimes lol.

Im so thrilled with the way these cookies came out. All the hours spent on these and the back ache from sitting in the chair was all worth it. ;)

Flames N Skullz

one thing i love is flames & skulls. now my house is not decorated in such but i do have a few things that have flames n skulls decorated on it. ive always loved the badass look. i wanted to do a black cookie with black skull, red & orange flames. well we all know what black icing does to the mouth so i decided to go with white background. i made some skull royal transfers in black and they just didnt look right on the white cookie. so yes i tossed em and started over and made the white skulls. ahhh so much better. i love this cookie!

pink zebras, leopards & giraffes??

i was fantasizing about some pink animal print cookies and well...here you have it. hmmm pink zebras? do you think?? ;)

Cupcake Cookie or Cookie Cupcake?

Whats better....a cupcake or a cookie? Hell, I cant decide so why not a cookie thats a cupcake. works for me ;)

Brush Embroidery

this week i made a few different cookie cut outs so i can go design crazy and start hoping on posting pics. im determined to start getting many pics up so i can have a lengthy cookie index. so i took a crack at brush embroidery. i have seen it before and i have always loved it. looks so classy & elegant. it took along time to do but i tell ya the end result is exquisite. i think it would look really pretty if the background color was a little darker and the white would pop even more. or even having a pastel color as the embroidery would look neat too. oh well...next time.

sunday afternoon ch.chip cookies

as much as i enjoy the work of rolling out cookie dough, cutting out shapes and decorating cookie after cookie. i do enjoy making some good all american chocolate chip cookies. i love the semi-sweet chips in a bigger cookie that is very soft in the middle, almost not cooked through all the way. they are addicting. as well as the cookie dough. yeah my belly is feeling the heaping spoonfuls of it now. ;)
